7 Things To Do Before Meeting With Your Wedding Florist

blog-post-7-things-to-do-before-meeting-with-your-wedding-florist

Your dress, shoes, and wedding flowers are likely at the top of your list of the most important details, and you may even have a Pinterest board filled with all three. From booking your venue to deciding on your budget (and so much more!), there are seven important steps I encourage you to complete before meeting with your wedding florist. Let’s walk through each together:

1.Draft Your Wedding Budget: The amount you are comfortable spending will largely determine each and every decision you make from your guest count and venue to your catering selections and wedding flowers. Note: a large guest count and bridal party will largely impact your budget.

2.Determine Your Top Three Priorities: Plan to write down your top three priorities for their wedding day, and ask your groom to do the same. Then talk through them together and end your conversation on the same page!

3.Reserve Your Venue: The style of the venue where you plan to celebrate will influence your wedding colors, style, and even your flowers. For example, I’m always drawn towards lush classic arrangements for a Ritz Carlton weddings.

4.Choose Your Wedding Colors: Choose one main color, one accent color, and a few neutral colors you would like to carry throughout your wedding’s design.

5.Browse Wedding Blogs for Theme Ideas: Browse through a few wedding blogs to see which styles and themes catch your eye. It’s also helpful to browse through magazines as well.

6.Create a Pinterest Board: Plan to pin style and theme ideas that you like AND dislike. Remember to share your reasons with your wedding florist.

7.Share Your Pinterest Board: Your wedding florist will ask to see your Pinterest board during your initial meetings together, so be prepared to share a curated board with her! Before you share: delete images that no longer interest you because your board is most helpful when it’s clear, concise, and representative of your wedding style.

Warmly,
