3 reasons why you should book your venue before hiring your wedding florist

It’s been a while since my last blog post, and wow! there’s been quite a number of life events since then. I have had to take a step back and refill my cup rather than operate from a place of emptiness which led to a mental and physical burn out. Refilling my cup has helped me to restructure my vision and mission for my business so I can serve my clients with the best experience- which is very important to me. More about this in a later post. For now, the goal is to publish a post monthly and I’m working on being intentional about accomplishing this goal. Now onto today’s post.

Starting your wedding florist search

So you are engaged and you’ve probably been searching around the web for quite some time now to start planning your wedding. You are probably trying to learn as much as you can about how to book your wedding florist as well as all your other wedding vendors. Since there are many steps involved in wedding planning, it can be difficult to know where to begin. Before you hire any vendor I highly recommend booking your wedding venue. This can be achieved with the help of a wedding planner or DIY. Some of the local wedding planners we love are Caroline Dutton EventsSoco Events, and Elizabeth Bailey Weddings & Events.
Whether you hire a wedding planner to assist you with your search for your wedding venue or you decide to do it yourself, the following are three reasons why you need to book your wedding venue before you contact your potential wedding florist.

Your wedding date is determined by your venue availability

Whether you are having your wedding in a hotel ballroom, a museum and everything in between, certain seasons or months tend to get booked quickly with the popular wedding venues – some up to 2 years in advance. I would highly recommend you reserve your venue as early as possible especially if you have a specific month or day in mind. Now once you have reserved both your ceremony and reception venues, then your wedding florist can confirm their availability as well.

Your venue is needed for the wedding floral proposal

Your venue sets the tone for the design and decor elements and as your wedding florist, I take this into consideration when preparing your design proposal to create a cohesive look and feel for your wedding vision. Details about your wedding ceremony and reception are required during your initial inquiry with us as well as pre-wedding questionnaire prior to our consultation.
While preparing the design concept for your proposal, here are some of the things that I’m considering
  •  is the ceremony & reception in the same location or same room?
  •  if the same location, which design concept is functional with the location and will also create the experience and feel for your desired wedding vision.
  • are upgraded wedding table linens and chairs needed to create the look & feel for your wedding vision?

Your venue is needed for the wedding floral labor pricing

As your wedding florist when preparing your design proposal, I need to determine how many team members will be needed to design all of your wedding floral elements as well as for the full production service which includes both the installation and post-event tear down. As part of the Klassy Culture, we provide full production service to ensure all our Klassy brides have a stress-free experience throughout their wedding floral planning and on their wedding day.  Here are some of the things I take into consideration:
  • what is the vendor set-up time?
  • Is the vendor set-up time sufficient for wedding floral design?
  • can the vendor set-up time be extended otherwise bring in more crew
All of the above plays a role in the labor price in your floral proposal.
CONCLUSION
Now that you know why you need to reserve your wedding venue before you contact your wedding florist, have you booked your venue yet? If you enjoyed today’s posts be sure to CLICK HERE to sign up to get more tips.
