Tell us a little about you and your business
I’m Jazmin Portnow, the Owner and Director of Events at Anyvent Event Planning. We are a full-service luxury event planning company that specializes in elevated wedding experiences with offices in the DMV and Charlottesville, VA.
Why did you start your business and tell us your company’s core values?
Some of my biggest inspiration to really make my business into what it is today came from a conversation that I had with one of my best friends after my very own wedding. She said that she felt like she knew so much more about my husband and I and our love story after attending our wedding. That was the best compliment that I received and so I have made it our company mission to celebrate the unique story of every couple that we service. We genuinely love the diversity of couples that we have the pleasure of working with and take pride in creating events that truly speak to them and their journey together.
What do you enjoy most about what you do?
I love the fact that we get to be part of some of the happiest moments of some of our couples’ lives as they celebrate with family and friends. There is nothing like the feeling that we get at the end of the night when our couples thank us for helping them throughout their planning journey and executing an event that they will remember forever.
What should prospective couples know about your process and about working with you?
I would love couples to know that we truly do our best to make sure that you feel like they are our only clients and are genuinely invested in making your event a success. We want you to have all of the warm and fuzzies that you deserve during this something stressful planning process.
What advantages do your business services offer to engaged couples who hire you?
Aside from a fun, client-focused planning experience, we offer discounts through several of our planning partners and over a decade of industry knowledge that always assists in making the planning process much smoother for our clients.
What advice would you give engaged couples currently planning their wedding? (Share 2 – 3 tips)
1) Truly enjoy this time together and don’t lose sight of what your wedding is truly about. Make sure that you carve out plenty of quality time together during the planning process that doesn’t revolve around the wedding, but rather the things that you enjoy doing most together.
2) Don’t sweat the small stuff! 15 years from now, no one will remember what color napkins you had or if you had roses or peonies. Focus on your guest experience and celebratory moments that you will cherish for a lifetime. At the end of the day, you are marrying your soulmate, and that is the most important thing.
3) Know what you don’t know and get help! If your budget allows, enlist the help of a Planner, even if it’s just for month-of coordination. Having a Planner to work out the logistics of your event will take an immense amount of pressure off of you or anyone you would trust enough to handle something like this for the big day. Hiring a professional let you truly enjoy your day with family and friends.
